Sacred Geometry Levels III & IV – the Harmonies of Heaven and Earth Vancouver
Join geometer, artist, and educator Ari Lazer for an intermediate to advanced exploration of the ancient art and science of Sacred Geometry. Explore how our ancestors used simple geometric patterns to discover the size and shape of the Earth, the great cycles of time, and to build exquisite monuments to the forces of creation.
We’ll learn about a handful of the most important ancient designs, how to draw them, and what they can offer to us as creators in an emergent world.
- The Starcut – Our Temple Window to the Cosmos
To begin, we’ll unpack the mysteries of one of the essential geometric tools in creating all forms to mirror the heavens – an exquisite bridge between spatial geometry and musical harmony.
2. The Heavenly City Diagram
The proportions of the Moon and Earth weave together to create a master pattern known as the Heavenly City diagram. This is a pattern at the heart of Stonehenge, the Great Pyramid, and a number of other profound ancient sites. We’ll explore the secrets it keeps for us in the modern era.
3. The Numbers of the Canon
An exploration of the proportions of the Earth using the ancient canonical numbers that our ancestors employed to create an exquisite, living, and vivid geometrical picture of the Moon, Earth and Sun.
4. Stonehenge – and the Cycles of the Moon
The knowledge of the ancient canon of numbers, and the harmonic pattern of the Heavenly City diagram lead us to a profound new understanding of the way that Stonehenge functioned as an astronomical calculator, and centre of ceremonial worship.
- The Harmony of the Spheres
To close the day we’ll explore numerical coincidence and beautiful geometric pattern in the rest of our solar system.
1. The Sri Yantra
To start the day we’ll explore the ancient form of the Sri Yantra, its significance, and build the design from the ground up.
2. Crop Circles – A Bounty of Harmonic Pattern
We’ll explore the astounding complexity and geometric beauty of the crop circle phenomenon, its relationship to sonic forms, and discover how to draw our own versions of some of the more striking desings.
3. The Great Pyramid
From the numbers of the canon and the great cycles of time we begin to unpack our own relationship with one of the greatest geometric wonders in the world – the Great Pyramid at Giza. We will explore both its proportions, and the way they encode amazing details about the size and scope of the Earth, as well as the cycles of time that govern our lives here.
4. On Earth as in Heaven
To conclude the weekend, we’ll investigate the connections between these phenomena, and explore how we as beings, alive on the Earth, can continue to unfold to the great chain of knowledge passed down to us.
Course Runs June 3rd and 4th, from 11am-5:30pm. Location TBA.
As the workshop is hands on, participants are asked to bring a blank notebook, or blank paper for drawing on, and a drawing compass, a ruler, and some pencils and pens (multiple colours are great).
Course Cost: $295 for the weekend, $245 early bird rate.
Some student and low income spots available.
If you have any questions, or to apply for the low income rate, feel free to contact Ari for more info at 778-323-0053, or email: [email protected].
