If one were to turn all the straight lines in the Starcut Diagram into guitar strings, or harp strings, the difference in their lengths alone would be enough to generate the musical tones of the Diatonic (or 7 note) scale. One of my favourite mandalas, enshrining the proportions of the Earth and the Moon to create a beautiful 12- and 28-fold pattern, allowing one to track the cycles of full moons, new moons and eclipses. This pattern is the ground plan that underlies Stonehenge, Glastonbury Abbey, and the Great Pyramid of Giza, amongst others.
The Mandala is 23.5 inches in diameter.

The central figure is an Islamic 8-pointed star. In the art of sacred geometry, the repetition of 8-fold elements brings structure to a creation, and enmeshes its design in conversation with the practical and physical world.
